Year 2 Historical Event
The first task for the year was to produce 3 A2 typographic posters based on an historical event of my choice. I chose the Suffragette movement and so when thinking about design techniques I looked into hand produced methods. The suffragettes made their own banners and flags for their protests so I decided to produce my own. I used a quote from Emmeline Pankhurst – one of the famous suffragettes – for the typography to give the viewer an understanding of what the movement was about. I chose the colours purple and green as these were the colours of the WSPU – a key party within the movement.
